I already knew how to make Ema Datshi and it also tasted quite fine. But it was not satisfactory. Then I knew I was making some mistakes while cooking it. I began to observe while my parents made it. So I have tried their method and found it very effective.
This is the steps to make Ema Datshi:
- Wash your chilies and cut it vertically, I usually cut it into three parts.
- Put the chilies in the pot and pour just a little amount of water but make sure the water will not dry out while boiling.
- Before turning the stove on, pour a little bit of oil, fermented cheese, and salt. I also like to put garlic but i first smash them before putting it into the pot. Then turn your stove on and close the lid.
- When the water is boiling, mix the curry and grate the cheese(processed cheese). Then mix it again and close the lid.
- After few minutes turn the stove off.
